Jeff Easley's Adept Illusionist is another of the "inverted art" Curio cards that emerged in Beta, followed Alpha ones such as Mirror Realm.
The easiest way to identify this card when opening packs is that it is an Elite rarity that shows up in the Ordinary card slot. However, the type line text also includes a change from "skills" to "means". The Curio version is on the right and says "means".
Throughout development of the game, there were many changes to card titles, type line text, game mechanic text, and flavor text in many cases. The type line change was also possibly included due to Alpha curios being extremely difficult to discern, with this extra nod adding something else to look for instead of the extremely subtle difference in the artwork.
