Description from Juan: Originally commissioned name was "Whip".

For this illustration I was asked to make a person hitting someone with a whip focusing on the act of whipping. We see an executioner whipping someone out of the image, while a multitude watches the horrible spectacle. For this painting I was thinking about doing something mysterious with grotesque and disturbing characters similar to the one ́s found in Goya ́s black paintings, the filth of their faces and clothes is a reflection of their corrupt souls. For the whip I wanted to give it a dynamic movement capturing the sudden rattle of the whip as it changes angles hitting his target.
